Dear Fellow Reefers

My PH tend to be high at around 8.45. This happened after I changed my salt mix from Tropic Marin Reef Pro to H2Ocean Pro. Now I have reverted back to Tropic Marin Reef Pro but the PH level is still above 8.4.

Appreciate if any fellow reefers out there can recommend ways to bring down the PH level. I do a weekly water change since I set up my tank since last Dec, which is abt 8 months old.

Many thanks in advance : )

Hi bro,

Generally, pH levels ranging from 8.1 to 8.4 are acceptable for Saltwater tank. But, reef tanks tend to be a bit more sensitive and the optimum pH levels in these tanks need to be more towards the higher levels :D .

FYI, My tank's pH all the while is ranging from 8.5~8.6. All fishes are very healthy and corals growth are excellence especially the monti amd birdnest from frag to colony within 4~6 months time so I dun bother to bring it down  !

I installed a reef octopus biopellet reactor about a month plus. My elegance was doing well but recently has started to recede and die. HIAZZZ

8.4 is still ok bro.

The main thing is keeping it stable and not the have wild swing. Not sure if you are aware but also try to measure the PH at the same time of the day.

They do vary at different timing. Usually highest when the light is just about to be switch off.
