Hi Bro, For Arctica I think the model will tell u the wattage of the chiller... e.g 1/4 HP DBE200.... will be 200 watts.....

Any bro can advice?

Why not directly call up Arctica agent to ask rather than guessing?

checked with the service guy.. for 1/10 chiller. the initial 15 mins, it will consume 75(compressor) + 10(fan) = 85 watts for the start.. after which the wattage needed will drop once is running.. something like 60++ watt

icic... thanks for sharing bro...... so the model is only implying to the compressor + another 10 watts for the fan?

yes.

i'm using artica chiller. as far as i understand, artica uses AC fan, hence the 10 w. other models/brand may use DC fan for silence operation. Compressor usage of wattage of any brand or model of the same HP is about the same.

Actually, based on electrical engineering, if I still remember, power(w)=voltage(v) x current(amp). I usually use this to estimate the power or even current of a device to calculate the cost. Of cost, this is used as an estimate because for ac power supply, there are other factors.....

For pump, compressor or fan type power calculation, you need to consider power factor. Due to the Voltage and current are not running in phase. Voltage x current would give you the |S| aka apparent power but not real power. The actual real power is Voltage x current x power factor (you might need to consider power factor correction). The power factor is the cosine of the phase shift.

Pls find the general formula below for reference:

apparent power |S|=|V|*|I|

Actual power P = |S|*(PF) note* power factor ranges from 0 to 1

The best is to measure using power meter, I will snap some pics of power meter I am using now.. Cheers & Happy reefing...
