very reasonable...

u may want to consider 2.5ft or 3ft instead, bcoz the IOS is going to take up space.

if u opt for 2ft, means, your actual space for livestocks is 1.5ft.

and also yr IOS need extra space for 2 pumps.

one pump for return and the other for chiller...

Ya...and maybe another pump for skimmer?

Because of such restrictions, IOS tanks are usually more suited for FOWLR where equipment & pumps are minimal. If you want to keep corals, better go for a sump system.

actually is planning to have a nano tank.

main tank compartment should be 40cm wide.

but the glass taken some space and likely reduce to 36+cm

cannot keep increasing the length else no more nano liao

but will consider increase to 65cm to offset all the glass thickess

hope $0 or little price increase

all equipment required to fit the small sump already bought or shortlisted

there is a little compartment in the sump that can fit either the tunze 9002, BR QQ or boyu ( :P ).. all the 8.5cm skimmer

will try srcubber if fail then get a skimmer

should I go for aragonite sand? but will mix it with my Oz Gold bought years back :P

or all Oz gold?

this time i will take it very very slowly

FOWLR first...if water readings ok then only keep a few small rocks of less demanding corals like mushroom, richodia, zoa or star..maybe try a small branch of hammer or similar LPS

just wana up close with the small fish and shrimps

will use fan to cool

water change weekly

No matter your main display is 36 or 40cm, you may need to give some thought to lighting placement. If you're going for T5, they come in only a few standard length. Hence the 2 stands on the T5 fixture may not rest at both edges of your customized tank.

2 things to consider:

(1) How you plan to mount the lighting fixture? (A hood may come in handy in some circumstances.)

(2) Do you want to light up the sump area as well? (Most people don't to avoid algae growing in there.)
