Dear all,

Just bought fragments (20 cents coin size).

I just realized that they are too small. Stupid me.

Can any kind soul answer the following questions?

a) Can they grow bigger?

B) If no, too bad. :(

c) If yes, what can be done to promote growth?

Thank you. Thank you.

Yes, they do grow.....

and that depends very much o nutrient levels.... moderate lighting would be good....

I kept these in my SPS reef before and due to the low nutirent level, notice that they dun grow much...

Now that I have them placed into a compartment with slower water flow in them andhigher nutrient levels, reaulting in many of them growing to twice their sizings within weeks...

Of course I do feed them and maintain high nutrient levels.....

These rics are also fed 150Watts of MH rays..... B)

Hi Joe_P,

I dose Calcium and Stronium twice a week. Would that be enough to maintain high nutrient level?

Thank you.

I'm actually refering more to feeding ....

and the addition of Lugols solution (iodine) ......

Most softies would benefit tremendously in a high nutrient reef...

Placed some of these into reefs with low nutrients and you will notice that they slowly waste away..... Unless constant feeding and efficient skimming is employed.... :)

Will try. My fish too fast.

All the food will disappear before it reach the bottom of the tank. :D

Feed your fishes first. Then use a tweezer to bring the food down to your rics . once the food touched to "bubbles" of the rics , it should

stay there & the ric will slowly close up , consuming the food.

Tried that yesterday.

The moment my hands left the tank, all my fishes snatched the shrimp from the Ricodea. :(

I had the same problem whenever I try to feed my rics. The only solution I have will be to keep my hand in the water to fend off those greedy shrimp. There's when the gloves came in handy.

Cheers

I think Fl ric won't grow as big as other mushroom right?

It will start to have more mouths and split at around 50cent (before expand) size :P maybe wrong... of course is good to have it as big as elephant ear

If can be as big as elephant ear, I will be laughing in my sleep.
