My new fire shrimp and grouper

got some fire shrimp and a grouper today. but dont know exactly what grouper it is. $25 for the fire, $18 for the grouper

They are actually under the genus of soapfish, Most likey a pogonoperca punctata, At least 1ft fully grown .. The fire shrimp will be meal for them..

The fish below the soap fish is a copperband butterflyfish. Inexpensive but difficult to keep alive. Live food feeding at least twice a day.

Definitely a predator. If you have a grouper, all other fishes have to match its size or aggression...else hardly can survive.

Poor fire shrimp. Jus it's bad luck to be housed inside a reefer tank with a grouper who does not know about compatibility issue. Or maybe it was added purposely as a food source for this grouper?

Don't think its added as food source as its too expensive to use blood shrimp as food.

But its a nice time bomb there.

I got myself a pair of fire shrimps a few months ago. Placed them in my tank. Saw and envied them for a minute or so. And until today I've yet to see them again. I wonder if I'll ever see them again.

I use to have a 3" red grouper that can feed on 10 chromis within 1hr. The strange thing is the stomach doesnt look like it contain 10 fishes
