DIY MH Light

Hi Guys :)

Just got a DIY MH light with a refector, a ballast, cap and a radium bulb. Am wondering if anyone has done a wooden casing before. Can tell me please where to buy the wood?? And how to hang it from ceiling?

can use chengtai wood to diy yourself lol... up to yourself to do.. just remember to get some fans for ventilation... or else it'll get pretty hot inside.. evaporation rate higher and faster lol... toping up of water also faster..inside the diy light hood can fit into some t5 or PLs of FLs for your blue lighing... buy a good reflector so that all the light source will be utilised...

Hey guys, just a cautionary note. If you use wood to build the casing, do consider the heat generated by ballast and lamp. You may endup with a warped surface or burnt interior, possibly catches fire if ballast is mounted directly on wood.

hi bro,

nobody will place the ballast on the hood......most diy, the ballast will b external..... :D

if not, the hood will b too damn heavy..........

silverfish: how can you blame ah_siao when he jus merely answered to your questions and told you nothing about placing a ballast on the hood to catch fire! Advice from dr_evil and alanyeo are helping you to reconsider whether you still wanna a wooden casing! dun blame others when they merely answered to what u ask for! :lol:
