Can I ask a question? If the snail dig into sandbed, does that means DSB tank cannot have it as cleaning crew?

they dun borrow deep..they just hide their shell and leave their long *nose* out to smell for food..hehe

Normally sea lettuce will not turn assexual. It will wither when it grow old- you can harvest it. Will turn assexual when water parameters is out. You will need to harvest the lettuce to keep it growing......

Snails should be kept with some sands or mud. I suppose it will make sense to keep snails in the main tank. If you have a Bare-bottom tank, you will noticed that every week or month, you see a accumulation of dead organism or left over food at the bottom of the tank. The snails will CLEAN out your dead organism. I guess a lot of reefers complain about missing fish or shrimps or.....and algae boom. Well the snails will clean your dead fish in unreachable areas to its bones.....not even the eyes or scale can be found. juz the bare white bones. You can experiment by throwing a dead shellfish inside a tank and what is left within an hr is the bare shell. It will not attack your clams or other invert. It will clean up your left over food and trust me, these snails has a nose 100X better than your dog!

If you have DSB or an inch of Sand Bed, it help to shift your tank. You will not need these snails if your have zero fish population or never ever feed anything to your tank.
