I am using AZ-NO3 at the moment, and I see a drop in NO3 already. So I should say it's another alternative beside water change.

Well both AZNO3 and PO4-minus works very well. I've used this product far before it exist in S'pore.

But watchout that the use of this product

1. will cause a drop in ORPby half in 1st 1hr and 20~30% drop in ORP by 24~72hrs

2. reduce dkh by 1~2dkh

3. take out some of the minerals in NSW.

After using it for long period of 1 week, you better make sure you do water changes. to replenish vital minerals, else it will be corals removable by these products!

This is not a longterm solution. Use this product to bring your tank parameters to the right level and implement longterm measure to maintain parameters.

Some of my sps died when I started using azno3. It occurred after about 1-2 weeks of use.

Pospeh... you shouldn't be having to use AZ-NO3 if you're keeping SPS!! Why were your nitrate levels that high in the first place??

Max... I have been using AZNO3 before it even came to SG too... my HK distributor friend introduced to me when I was a newbie and suffering from high nitrates due to my first inefficient setup.

chrislwp... it is an enzyme product which causes bacteria blooms to consume the nitrates and process it into something harmless.

When there is a sudden increase in bacterial activity, there may be a drop in oxygen levels in the tank, causing stress to the tank inhabitants like fish and corals. You may have to standby an air pump to introduce more oxygen into your water. May.
