Good price..Thanks CFOh. Do I need to buy both or just magnesium chloride? Never use this type before.

Actually, own preference.. but I suggested both.. Pls find some discussion on mg @ bro dnsfpls thread.. Cheers...

Below extracted from the discussion:

Magnesium Chloride (MgCl2) PH ~7 which tends to precipitate more in Salt water, the insoluble and residuals may resulted PH drop due to other leftover ions.

Epsom salt/Magnesium sulfate, MgSo4 PH ~5-6.X which are more acidic than MgCl2, it exhibited better solubility & serve as Buffer as the same time..

But with same amount of Magnesium (ppm) achieved, MgSo4 raised sulfate tremendously comparing the rate of MgCl2 rising Chloride.

Therefore the other reason of mixing MgCl2 & MgSo4 is to avoid increasing of both chloride and sulfate in our tank water also balance between them.

That's why many product of Magnesium blend with magnesium chloride and magnesium sulfate to achieve optimum result..

Cheers..

what is the quantity in ratio to mix ?

Sorry for late reply.. The ratio is ~ 97% Mgcl2 ~3% MgSo4 for example in one gallon water.. Mix 7.25 tea cups magnesium chloride and 0.75 tea cup Epsom salts/magnesium sulfate together.. Cheers..

Thanks again for the info bro.

Hi, received some pm on above topic, personally I am not using Randy formula, Just read up from books and magazine, above just imperative.. U can try below chart for reference.. As can see the coefficient on MgSO4 to rising SO4 is significant lower more than 9time compare to MgCl2 rising Cl2 with same amount of Mg achieved.. U can try the transfer function below to achieve yr desire Sulfate/Chloride rise % ppm (%) Vs Mg gain in ppm. Hope above helps.. Cheers..

Cheers..

U can play around with below calculator after mixture ready, choose "Randy Recipes 1 and 2" under supplement cell also define yr desired and current Mg plus tank Volume..
