i wonder if i can use biopellets w/o FR...using a filter bag in the IOS?

will it cause my tank to crash? and some mutated creature to appear

Biopellets need to "tumble" to work. I don't think they can do so in a filter bag. Putting them in a betta box might work if there is sufficient flow thru' it.

I believe the document mentioned that the bacteria is large enough to be filter off using a filter bag. Anyone tried without skimmer?

Biopellets are effective as long you are running with a skimmer and most importantly the outlet of the biopellets reactor must place

near ( best directly pointed) to the skimmer mouth in order to skim out the excess bacteria / waste.

I have tried without skimmer and the filter bag get clogged every 2 days,

Been using it for a year and realize Reefing is getting much more easier than before.

It is now easier to control N03 effectively with the simple usage of Bio pallets.

is Prodibio BioKit Nano Reef having similar function but can do without the skimmer for nano?

For a small tank, just weekly change of water is good enough to control the N03 and P04.

You need to have a skimmer when using biopellet . Purpose of the skimmer is to skim out the wastes n excess bacteria created by the Biopellets . Without a skimmer algae diatoms even red slime will outbreak and i have experience this when my skimmer was off or faulty for a week.
