Using Kalk to flush Mantis Shrimps

If you take the LR out of the tank... if not... the mantis shrimp may scoot out somewhere else, and the excess kalk paste could kill some other lifeforms if you don't suck it out immediately and it floats away and lands elsewhere.

Thanks AT! I will be taking the LR out.

I am thinking of using the clear part of the kalk solution and squirt the solution into the hole it is hiding.

Will this method kill other life forms on the LR?

Is mantis shrimp green in colour? cos i see some shrimp look alike in my LR which is lime green in colour..

There are lots of varieties of mantis shrimps.

If it like to hide in a hole most of the time, most likely it a mantis shrimp.

Managed to carry out my operation "kalkflush" last night.

Decide to take the risk and soak my LR with some corals in kalk solution but the pesky mantis still refuse to come out!! Haiz.

Now my only worry is that the corals on the LR will not perish!

Will post again if my corals survive the ordeal.

why go all the trouble to use kalk when u r taking out the LR..

just put yuor LR in plain water...

I'm sure the mantis will come running out..

and also risk the micro organisms to die therefore having a 'dead rock' instead...

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

"Its easier to blame the 'mantis' or crabs in the tank for missing & dead livestocks.."
