you can go yishun aquastar(if i am not wrong) or clementi C328 to get a small nano tank (less then $20) with a hang on filter (with weekly water changes),i believe that doesn't cost more then $50 with a LED light.

at a young age of 19, believe that your parents is giving you weekly of minimum $50 to eat for lunch.

Save everyday and i believe you can get a setup soon.

If you can't even fork out this $ and is asking people to donate... how bout those live stock / corals that you are going to get.

Test kits and doing salt mix (one 25kg bucket cost $70 and above depending on brands) cost you $$ too.

Would you also wait 1 month to cycle the tank (after you have one) ?

Food for the fishes also doesn't cost cheap.

i hope the above didn't demoralize you but let you plan and decide what kind of setup you want and can maintain with your tight budget.

Happy reefing (if you starts one) and many bros will definitely chip in to help you (on advise... not equips) :chair:

Thats true, if u want a budget tank, why not try something smaller? maybe an iq5? LOL. $30 is actually quite cheap compared to the horros you will face, why not get your parents to help you out. I was in your situation once so i just saved for almost a year...that gave me bout $400. its enough to start a simple tank, nothing fancy. that was 2 years back when i was in primary school, i only had like $2 a day.

None taken, but just to let u know i started my first reef tank when i was 12 :) So yeah ive thought well about all these an even more. I feel theres nothing wrong with seeking an unused tank than is just lying in someones house. To me the 20 bucks i use to get a tank is wasted if theres some one who already has it and is just leaving it there. So dont worry i have the $$ u are reffering to

Hope i din offend u
