Hows the nutrients level?

my no3 always zero, even during and after cycling

i have lots of LR, using an oversized skimmer plus vodka dosing

that is why i cant cant compare the result

my test kit is not expire as i use it for other tanks too

based on my understanding, its good for breaking down ammonia & nitrite only

i think this is pretty useless if you are targeting nitrate

My system is somewhat the same as yours bah, I have a oversized skimme and do carbon dosing also...

I am not really targeting nitrate as I have bp for it..

Only ammonia and nitrite due to my constant feeding and overstocking for the fishes... Can easily cause Ammonia spike...

based on some review from aro forum

its really good if you are targeting ammonia and nitrite

due to the movement, only strong bb survive thus improving its effectiveness

If you check out this video below from Kaldnes which is the manufacturer of the K1 media and the design / logic behind the technology, it should work well. I am using it in my sump compartment with a two air stone running in it to move the media. Too bad there isn;t any test kit to test it;s effectiveness LOL...

I remember seeing it as well in the AVA booth in Aquarama which they are promoting using it to promote their water filtration system for aqua-farming. So since even our government agency themselves is using it , it should be good? Just my own view on it though

After 2 days of trial and errors and sweats... I came up with this @ zero cost...

A small tank with holes underneath and a pump from old skimmer..

Not perfect but still serves the purpose...

Hmmm, so there is no way we know whether it works in our tank?

Most of them are turning brown after 2 weeks...
