Here is a fantastic HD video of Jan Korbijn’s 338 gallon in-wall reef tank. This fantastic 200cm x 80 cm x 80 cm (1280 Liter) in-wall creation is a nice departure of the SPS dominant tanks we regularly show. A nice combination of softies, mushrooms and polyps, LPS and some SPS, along with a variety of tangs, anthias, a flame angel, rabbitfish, clownfish, cardinals, a butterfly, and several other reef fish. This aquarium is just packed with movement and life.

Now, let’s talk about the fish room! That skimmer looks like it’s about 7′ tall, sand filtration, a 77 gallon sump, and lots of gadgets, all arranged very neatly. I love seeing how other hobbyists plumb their tanks. It always give me new ideas to try with the next evolution of my reef system.

We’ve all seen several LED systems simulation lightning over reef tanks, but this HP Aquaristik system is just so much better. Designed with the goal of replicating nature, this system simulates cloud cover with LEDs which are individually controlled and dimmed. Rather than providing a fixed intensity throughout the ON period of the lighting cycle, this system outputs varied degrees of power over the different zones.

Next comes a true thunderstorm! The thunderstorm program includes LED lightning flashes, which increase in intensity as the storm develops. The last, and definitely coolest, part, is a 2 minute rain shower. An integrated tube system drips rain drops on the entire system, providing not just an amazing visual effect, but also serving as a partial auto top off.

The whole cycle lasts 8 minutes, with the last 2 minutes featuring rain. Here is a nice video showcasing the system. :thumbsup:

Started in february 2008, 6 ft, 130g display, 70g sump, 3x MH 400W 20 000 K XM lights, 1x tunze 6080, 1x hydor koralia 4, 1x koralia 1, usa current 1/3 hp chiller, ph monitor, refractometer, cheato and xenia in sump+ 70 lbs live rock, fans, 1x 250 watt heater, 30g water reserve, 100 gpd RO/DI, KENT MARINE salt... Corals :Purple ribbon seafan,yellow stripped blue africans zoas, green slimer, blue staghorn, yellow birdnest, acropora, montipora digita, capricornis, confusa frogspawn, different anemones, kenya trees, sarcos, white pumping xenia, purple xenia, green star polyp, green hydnopora, (coco worm and feather (in sump)), different riccordera, orange favia, green brain, orange brain, many kind of mushes, many kind of zoos, candy cane, devil hand, elegant coral, blue ridge, green pocillopora coral, and many more!
