Sump/Overflow

Hi bro,

When we talk about sump with overflow, are we talking about 2 separate tanks? Can someone describe to me how does a sump works together with overflow? How to setup?

Main tank with overflow.....then the water goes into the sump..... then sump water send back to the main tank via return pump...and the cycle continues....
