Help ID: Palys or Aptaisia

Recommended Posts

Hi, I used to have a small rock of zoas with only one polyp of this palys/aptaisia. But now the zoas are almost gone and this 'creature' has multiplied and taken over the rock. Need help to ID this in case it is a pest. You can see at the bottom of that small rock, still got one small miserable polyp of zoa left...

Thank you.

the 2nd piece from the right looks like a mushroom that has turned brown due to lack of light or cus is being blocked by the paly. i may be mistaken, cus its partially hidden by the paly.

btw, what camera did u use?

Sorry bros, I didn't realise there are more replies until now.

bro dryDiver, I'm using my iphone camera. So the picture cannot make it. Nope, there is no mushroom. Even if there is, I'm afraid now it'll be gone...(I'll show what I mean below. You see how much it has grown over 2 months)

bro reddevils, the poisonous part of this palys, do they sting other corals? My zoa has definitely lost the battle against it. And now one of my baby Yuma is overrun by it and dead. It is now extending itself to cover my other baby Yumas. So I'm thinking of cutting it out from the rock. Not sure if any bro/sis here interested to own a frag of it. :P

And I noticed in the background nearby, my big yumas are also bleaching and shrinking up. Any chance it is caused by this palys?

Now I have a blue star polyps and a green palys infestation problem...haiz...if only my Zoas are growing like them I'll be so happy. Instead all my zoas shrink and die all the time.

On the bright side, at least my Rics (split from 1pc to 7/8pcs now) and Yumas are multiplying :)
