today i saw this particular piece of LR :yeah::yeah: which caught my eye coz half of it is green in colour not normal green but is :shock: BRIGHT GREEN the green look like those green sps when put under blue light glows very beautiful :yeah::shock: i check maybe is algae but not and so i bought it now housing in my tank happily :P:P can someone pls advice whether yr have seen such thing before thanks :thanks: l

Are you sure that there are no corals growing on the LR? I suspect you bought a piece of Porites coral.

If it is Porites coral then it has the same requirements as Montipora and Acroporas which means strong light, good water flow, high calcium and alkalinity with low dissolved nutrients.

Is it smoothly coating the LR?... it could literally BE paint! :lol:

Try to describe a little better... is it hard? Soft? Spongy? Has corallites - as Tanzy said... it could be porites coral growing on it.

We can't guess and ID it for you... best to take a clear photo (keep it to 700 pixel width pls).

Selling painted rocks is unscrupulous. I don't think any LFS or farms in Singapore have stooped that low, yet.

Since it is smooth, I think it's just LR that has bright green microalgae growing on the dead coralline algae.
