HELLO FELLOW REEFERS!

nice to be back reefing after a good break..

i've been very busy with exams and assignments,

so i took the chance to decom and upgrade my tank..

i've been waiting for the arrival of my tank for a long time already..

and its finally here today....

sump and pipings will be done within the next few days,

and my 1month of cycling will start next Monday..

some pictures of its arrival today

I would like to take this opportunity to thank this community for all the help and advice given to me...

to the reefers who sold me equipments at very good price,

to the reefers who gave me your liverocks,

to the reefers who help me keep some of my LS which i would like to bring into my new tank,

i've seen alot of reefers placing their own dogs into their new tanks before any cycling, i'm just following the trend

when i first got my puppy, he was also in a "tank" displayed, waiting to be sold.. hahaha...

let him reminisce his younger puppyhood days..

no dont have to be... i'm quite loss over this when the tank maker ask me if i wanted half length or full length... the pipes will come down from the overflowbox into the cabinet below... so i guess a shorter external overflow, you'll need longer pipes, while a longer one, you wont see much pipes from outside..

yea i cant wait too!!! actually i realise i didnt rest very long, although it seemed very long.. i decommed at the end of March, and now its the start of May.. I only "rested" for 1 month! hahahaha...

Sump will be 3ft by 1.5ft by 1.5ft...

Lights: ATI Powermodule 54W (4tubes)

Chiller: Resun CL650

Skimmer: Not yet decided

UV: CoralLife 18W

Wavemaker/Wavebox: Not yet decided

Main Pump: Ehiem 1262

did i leave out anymore stuff? haha...

basically, still in planning stage for equipments..

i've 1month to cycle my tank, and come up with something...

wont be all SPS tank.. haha.. thats for sure... (everyone seem to be into SPS now)

more of mixed reef, towards more fishes...

the main reason for my upgrade is for me to house more fishes,

to keep those that i was not able to do so with my previous 2ft cube...

mainly fishes, some basic LPS, and maybe some SPS...

but i would love to have a nice collection of zoas

Going to have black background for yr tank or clear? Wave maker, go for controllerable to allow wave box effect. Plan yr fish list well and coral list well. Lol.

Nice Tank, nice dog, Iggy. Wow, yr tank will receive many blessings, being next to the altar. A good start to Easter.

You can come over my place, with a cutter and have sps frags, but you do the fragging. Too stressful for me to do it. And butter fingers and failing eye sight too.

Underwater cam? Try Olympus... tough and pretty handy without the need for external casing. Maybe can get the older model, lower pixels but much cheaper. Anyway, anything more than 6 mega pixels can print 8R size liao.. if for web use, 2-3 mega pixel is more than enough.
