Anybody can tell me what makes those tick tick noises? It seems once in a while, I hear those tick tick noises. More so when I off the lights at night. When I try to turn on the lights, the sound goes away.

Ok.. I have a camel shrimp, skunk shrimp, fire shrimp, lionfish, bicolour dottyback, cowfish. I doubt its any of my live stocks. But there seem not to be any inhabitants already.

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

thats what I'm afraid of.... have loose any of my live stocks yet(hope not). But my guppies keeps disapearing.. at first I tot my lionfish is eating very very well but after the sounds I heard, I really doubt so.... :(

IME Pistol is the loudest. ;)

The problem is that I do not have Pistol shrimps nor any snails...

mine's making soft taps only.. probably a small one (whatever it is) coz I believe my dotty is living the same area as that 'thing'.. if its huge, the fish would probably be gone too :erm: ..

BTW are Pistols timid creatures? Do they always hide? If it is I wouldn't mind but if its a mantis :( ...

hey..i haf those noises too... i dun think its e shrimps...snails or watsoever.. coz i dun keep em.. maybe from LRs... but my LRs look kinda no living organisms in em..

maybe the fishes..haha..

thot i read from somewhere...fishes do make noises too... :lol:

man.. why do they only make noise at night? Not like they sleep when the light is on <_< .. they are so damn active but dun hear any noise.

...then they shaft some sand into my filter and make it stop.. then the whole tank will stink.... :lol: ... finding nemo.. only thing I do not have clowns.. :P

Pistols and Mantis shrimps normally come as hitchikers on Liverocks...

I have quite a number of pistols in my reef...... they came as hitchikers .....

There shouldn't be much concern unless you are bothered by the noise they make and fishes start going on vacation never to return.... :lol:

anyway not much concern about the noise factor coz its only once in a while.. I'm just afraid if my fishes and shrimps went missing..

you mean it ticks quite often? Maybe you got many...

Just now I took the rocks to examine.. seem to me that the only living thing visible to my eyes are those worm like thingy... they seem to make and live in those small white tubes in the holes of the LRs. I saw one quickly retracted inside..

Anyone can tell me what are those things? Worms?

:( I have the same experience as I kept hearing "tack tack" sound in my tank & recently my fishes kept dieing of injuries & some even dissapper but all this happened after i off the lights...arh!!!

Recently i lost two flame gobies & a fire goby, all is my favourite fishes!!
