Hi all,

I bought a anemone Shrimp today and when I got home, the little fella spawned in the plastic bag... now the bag is filled with little shrimps... I would like to try my best to keep them, but anyone has any idea on wat they eat and wat living conditions I to provide?

Thanxs !!

Treat it like how you would for naupii of the nrine shrimp.

1) Shine a torch to prevent them from going to the top.

2) Give only mild circulation.

3) Change water regularly like every two days once

4) As for feeding, I'm not sure...Try phytoplankthon... :)

Can try feeding the dead ones to your fish. Still got some nutrients. :P

My two cents' experience... :P

Just to share with fellow reefers my 1st experience witnessing CBS spawning.

I usually have the actinics on in the morning (for viewing pleasure) from 6am to 8 am while I get ready for work & hv breakfast.

Just as I was about to leave home this morning, the actinics shut off @ 8am and I saw a sudden burst of white little creatures shooting out from the left corner of my tank. (Does anybody know if it is the norm that spawning occurs only in the dark?)

Traced it to my CBS - it is one of the most amazing highlights of keeping an aquarium - whether freshwater or marine.

I immediately turned on the MHs and saw the '000s of fries wriggling around. Immediately captured them on video & was even tempted to apply for urgent leave just to sit in front of the tank and enjoy the breath taking sight!!

They obviously became food for the other tank mates. Would have tried scooping some up to quarantine & culture but no time lah !!

The best part of this is - it's my son's B'day today !! What a coincidence.

Am sure other reefers have witnessed this many times....

cheers

Bro...congras to your son....I thought it was last week???

That's the fun part of this hobby, you never get sick of watching the inhabitants in your tanks.....I think I am spending more time looking at my tank than my Mdm....kekekeke so far no complain yet! haha
