Possible for Rusty Angel to vanish in yr tank?

Recommended Posts

Gd morn to all!

Came back frm work yest and during feeding, noticed my rusty angel missing! Scanned through my tank but no sight of it. Other fishes in my tank incl....

- 2 Common clown

- Shoal of 8 blue green chromis

- 1 Yellow goby

- 1 Pseudanthias. squamipinnis

- 3 other fishes still in beta box

It's unlikely that the above fishes ate up my Rusty Angel right? It's prob unlike but do Rusty Angels hide in the sand? Really puzzled!

Last Sat my fairy wrasse was missing. Though my tank has a hood, found it on the flr at the back if my tank. This time I checked the surrounding of my tank but found nothing. Nothing in my overflow n sump too! Prob will try the overflow pipe but doubt it's there since the water flow shld push it out! Angels are capable of jumping?

Smaller fishes always disappear a day or 2 aft release into my tank. Those annoying crabs are prob the prime suspect. But angels are much bigger n healthy. Still possible to fall prey to the crabs? Juz wondering if something else is lurking in my tank, how do I find out?

Hopefully my angel is not dead. Noticed that marine fishes do not float when it's dead. Apart frm

removing the rocks, any other ways on finding out? Will strong flow in the tank surface it?

i finally concluded my "fish dying without leaving a body" issue when i caught an at least 1' long eunicid worm in my 2' tank after 2 years of keeping.. :pinch:

perhaps some things just don't appear until its time. you can try using a red filtered flashlight at night instead to view your tank. its like a cloak of invisibility for us or something

ha ha sound like marine security surveillance! But finding it is one thing, being able to catch it is another. Juz like those annoying crab which always seem too be one step faster then me!
