Very aggressive powder blue tang

Recommended Posts

I've a PBT with me for almost a year. Love it's great colors but he's also very aggressive, so much so that my purple and yellow tang get chase by him and refuse to come out except feeding times.

Recently I added a powder black tang and after a few weeks of releasing and re-capturing him to nurse back to health, I finally decided to catch the powder blue tang to give the other fishes a break. Now the powder blue is in my sump tank and I re-arranged the rockscape (had to tear down the rockscape to capture this fella). Question is, how long should I keep him in the sump tank before re-introducing him back?

p.s just dumped some frozen mysis in the sump tank and the powder blue is not feeding :(

Powder Black Plus Powder Blue is World War II.. Tried it and it will not work out...Even when introduced together... There will be circling and that is not a good sign, one of the time will stress out and die...

Well, the interesting was, the powder blue actually had a "friend", a power brown tang. Yeah, they chase each other around but both were feeding and no major damage each time. Unfortunately, I lost the powder brown when I changed tanks.

I was thinking, since the powder black is more shy, if I let it establish his spot in the tank and then re-introduce the powder blue in. Would the powder blue go wack the p. black ?

Unless ur tank is huge.... chances are high that will end up with a fatality. Not wise to have 2 powder series fish in a tank

Powder blue is more aggressive than brown or the black. Hence advisable smaller in size. I presume yr powder blue is the king in yr tank now? I think is possible to keep both but few factors to yr success, stability(both inch magnet), size, introduction and yr luck. However, keeping ich magnet is like time bomb.
