I thought this known or understood by most reefers keeping sps? The red field ratio of N,P&C...

This is why we recommend the usage of GFO/phosphate remover even with BP..

Becos the nutrients limits each other.. without the presences of another it would be impossible to reduce the nutrients level..

its gd to share the knowledge, there is no consitency to the accuracy of test kits due to multiple changing elements in the system, it is gd if we can keep track frm our effects and monitoring history, and provide a better and more accurate advice to new reefers...

hardwave stall or those pet shops.

they sell mesh similar to this (with different range and size) to prevent pest/pets from running away.

If a man could beat his own fantasy. Then to only breed in captivity. Then its pointless.

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

day 4 after adding BPs...

day 1 - almost no skimmate

day 2 - almost no skimmate

day 3 - added 1 frozen market prawn head into BP FR, some skimmate aft 3 hrs, foaming cappucino at end of day...

day 4 - remove prawn head and did 10% water change.. skimmate remain foam cappucino volume..

What would be the recommended flow rate for the pump used on a phosban reactor for a 450l tank? Interested in trying BP as well. By the way, any bro can enlighten me what is GFO? Currently running a deltec reactor with rowaphos, last i checked, its clear white in my test kit, i persume its almost 0 P in my tank. Can i still use BP since they need all 3 elements mentioned to work in temdem?

There is no fixed flow that is recommend as of what I know as long as the biopellets as tumbling to prevent it from clumping together, which will result in H2S(Hydrogen Sulfide) which is poisonous to the fishes and this is produced when the bacteria are in a anaerobic condition.

GFO = Granular Ferric Oxide, it is a Granular form of Iron based Phosphate remover...

With normal test kit, it always appear 0, becos the lowest a test kit can go in 0.25ppm where as PO4 can exist below 0.25ppm, which is quite high for SPS tanks... This precise measurement can only be measure with a PO4 meter.. Do a search you will find it...

BP is used to reduce Nitrate and small amount of Phosphate by providing food source for the bacteria where they will use up the carbon in BP and at the same time break down Nitrate and Phosphate... So it is advisable to use it with GFO or any phosphate remover...

just to add my process takes in a 1.5 liter pet bottle as FR with ard 2000l/hr pump going through it..

beads are not exactly tumbling but rather perhaps under vibration from my other pumps..

Dun quite get what you mean? LOL...
