I got 5 individual stick of hammer coral from a reefer.

Currently, I just lay them side by side on a rock.

Is this right? When daytime, they will open and looks nice together.

But night time, it will close and become individual stick..

I saw a video showing sticking the hammer in the sand like tree..

Should it be done that way?

Any advantage?

lay them side by side? perhaps you may want to try facing them up towards the light. its more beneficial for the hammer this way. there is no harm putting them on the sand as long as the light is strong enough for them at the bottom.

possible and if knocked down too long into the sand the hammer may suffer damage. if you have glue or epoxy you could stick the hammer onto the rock facing up. no need to find holes or anything.
