SRC Member cdckjn Posted April 1, 2011 SRC Member Share Posted April 1, 2011 You are perhaps the first person that I know that "cut" the BTA into two. I was too scared the last time when I had a anemone to do it for fear of poisoning the whole tank becuase of the slime.
tench1
My point of view - Since you name it tree of life, you should work on the "root" portion. Work on them 1st, then create "branches".
ambystoma82
there will be no roots due to the BB concept for easy cleaning there is already branches but it is nt worthy for photos yet,due to feedin of nps below, there branches r rather very green nw,partly also my abalone went on strike lol wonder if it is worthy of a totm

Those stuffs can protect your base, if some heavy rocks fell on it.
ambystoma82
Sometimes, its better to have some stuffs at the Bot, esp for BB. tench1
imagine one of your "branch", with abit of weight, dropped from certain height. And just so coincidence, the pointed part hit the base 1st. Perhaps, nothing will happen now, but if murphy struck twice and another drop hit the same spot? This is the same as having eggcrates covered with sands laid at the bottom base to act a medium to protect your base. Just my thoughts...for your reference. IMO, your tree will look more like a tree, with some "roots" surfaced from the "ground".
SRC Member BFG Posted April 3, 2011 SRC Member Share Posted April 3, 2011 I am in agreement with Tench1. Give it time and Murphy's Law will take effect.

ambystoma82
the pvc tree structure.. the branch structure is all hold by light or fake rocks.. which contributes to only 30% of the rock weight at the bottom which is already cable tie and "goop"
