Hey guys, i recently bought a hammer, and during water change, i guess the flow was too strong when i pour the water in, and 30%-50% of my hammer tentacle tissues got tore away from it's body, SHIT! :(

(Damn i learn my lesson...)

There are 3 heads, 1 baby head totally gone i guess.. i dun see any tentacle extending out, the other 2 are barely surviving...

My questions are,

1. will my hammer recover?

2. how long will it take?

3. is there anything i should do to help it heal?

BTW, is skunk shrimp reef safe? i seen it trying to "do something" to my elegance, but thats just once in awhile

Yeah hope it can survive, but my shrimp keep crawling on my elegance...

and now one of my clown is trying to house on my half dead hammer.....

how how???

your shrimp is probably trying to dig out food from ur elegance..

and your clowns will probably stress out the hammer coral further since its injured now.. best is to let the hammer be isolated in good conditions to allow quick healing..

good luck! thumbsup.gif

should try to move the shrimp and clown temporary out from your tank. I have smiliar encounter which my maroon clown trying to house on my hammer. Once i have removed and sold my maroon away. Hammer opening big as usual. From my personel experience, i found that clown like to host themselves to hammer, elegance, and bubble, unless you have a ammone.. but thats doesn't guaranteer too. Luckily, i have only 1 false clown now.. and every night, it rest on my brain. Since my brain still shows sign of fresh and healthyness, i just leave the clown inside my tank.
