Durso standpipe

Hi,im going to made a durso standpipe for my new tank.May i know is it a must to have a hole drill at the top endcap to control water lever?

If need what is the recommend hole size to be drill?

It is normally advisable to have a control airhole a that the endcap to allow adjustable flow if your return pump's rate is much lower then the designed durso pipe's width.

I have a hole which I put in an adjustable airvalve, so you can purchase a larger airvalve and drill the hole to that specification.

Thks.Btw did u apply any silicon or glue to fix ur airvalve to the endcap hole?

The hole I drill is just nice for me to screw in the airvalve, so I didn't use any adhesive. And since that part shouldn't touch water, it doesn't really matter.
