dispar anthias not eating

Recommended Posts

I recently bought 5 dispar anthias but it is not feeding for 1 day already whereas the barlett anthias (a pair) is feeding well in one day. they saw me coming near the tanks, they go into hiding. I use mysis and brine shrimp but no use at all. Is it difficult to keep them?

Dispar is not really difficult but not as easy as barlett. Just continue to feed them a few time a day and they might start feeding after a few day. Btw barlett are quite fierce and they might chase after the dispar which might be the reason why they are not feeding.

Hi bro,

I have 9 dispar anthias in my tank and I feed them with frozen cyclopeeze in the intial stage then follow by mysis and now pellet.

Perhap you can try feeding them with frozen cyclopeeze too :P !

my barlett are quite ok just that when come to feeding, they are the first. probably my dispar has a larger number so the bartlett dont dare to do anything.

the remaining 3, one is healthy and fighting for food, the rest 2 I think can be gone anytime!

purple queen is not impossible to keep. they need strong flow that mimic their natural habitat and they have better sense of security in sps dominated tanks that allows them to hide....u can try henry's gourmet...fish finds his food very hard to resist...u can feed your purple queen when the lights are off...they will likely to come out to feed until the time comes when they are more settled and bold, they will feed throughout the day.
