Question on Skimmer

Hi,

Will like to start a 3ft marine tank by converting my freshwater planted tank. I have 2 ehiem canister 2224 and 2226 pro series. I am looking for a skimmer that can be put on the outside with a budget of $200 - $300.

Possible to buy in marketplace. Get those outsump skimmer like deltec older series, 851, 701, apf600, etc. However, u got to undertake possible risk of leak. Good day.

A HOB skimmer like Deltec MCE600 or Reef Octopus BH-2000 may be easier to implement.

I am looking at reef octopus(Hang on skimmer); Module 350 Combo or Module Eco. Anyone used before this two, can give review? Btw, anyone know where i can get them from?

Is aquac remora better then red octopus? i am new so not very sure, please advice =). deltec mce300 price a bit too steep for me, still studying so is poor!

You should actually be looking at the Module 400. I think it's a newer design from Reef Octopus. It's also a common practice to oversize our skimmer in a marine setup.

i saw a demo just recently last mth at a lfs on reef oct. hang on type. the bubbles is not so great actually.

should go for MCE 300 =)

Not choice budget constraint. mce 300 will be around 350, too steep for me.

Check whether your freshwater tank can be used for marine. Might bulge if glass is thin.
