Hi guy, the yellow wrasses(Halichoeres leucoxanthus)that u all mention can be bought at ah beng at real yellow wrasses price ($4). Most of the time they are kept together witht the yellow wrasses. Only different is yellow wrasses(Halichoeres leucoxanthus)has more black dote on the top fin and white belly. The real yello wrasses only has 1 black dote on the fin near to the head.

I bought 2 last time now only left 1, have it for close to 9mth, hardworking fellow in the day time, but at night it will go to sleep. So at night when the nudis come out to eat your zoa, the yellow wrasse will be sleeping. :chair:

Both of them occur in different region.. But chrysus is very widespread, and leucoxanthus is only in indo, maldives and christmas island... That explains the price difference in LFS which know... Ah Beng would just lump every similar fish and sell cheap.. It always happens there...

Can I clarify if the white belly yellow wrasse also include coco and featerduster worms as their diet?

Am keen to add them into the tank but i have some featherdusters.

cheers

THey leave them alone...

Yellow and green wrasse are excellent reef cleaner fish but once established, they become bullies in the tank. New addition to the tank especially other wrasse are not safe if these wrasse are present. Choose wisely.

The white belly one is quite fine unless mine is a exception, it doesnt bothers any new comer wrasse and just mind its own business...
