With refugium and algae scrubber can we do without Skimmer?

With refugium and algae scrubber in place can we do without Skimmer?

I read that this is possible, is that true?

yes, provided the size of the scrubber is suitable for your tank.

Also you needs to wipe of the algae diligently else dead algae (without light that is covered by the fresh algae will die off and let nutrients flows back to your tank)

Refugium can be simple as one pl light shining on algae (most common and effective will be chaeto).

thick sand bed never try before, must ask more bros opinion / exp here! but you can do without it since you already have a algae scrubber
