I am considering to buy Deltec Hang on Skimmer MCE600 for my 4f tank online(http://freshnmarine.com.sg/estore/product_info.php?products_id=1501), but since my tank fully covered with cabinet, the space beside my tank only have 135mm.I need some advice for installation.

I understand the total width of this product is 180mm (include pipework), but the body width is only 85mm. Anyone know whether the pipework can be removed from body before I hang on it to tank? Otherwise with W180mm, I can not install it.

:groupwavereversed:

If anybody want to sell this product also welcome

Thanks a lot!

Hi Bro,

If I visualise correctly from your description.

You are trying to install the skimmer by sliding in the skimmer through the side of your tank and NOT by the top down for all hang on?

Sideway, the only obstruction is the inlet of the skimmer.

This inlet elbow (item 18 & 19) is removable.

The attachment can be found on the manufacturer website too.

Hi Bro, thank you for your advice, your visualize is correct. Now I must to confirm the Length of the obstruction since I don't think the body only with 85mm but the obstruction with 95mm.

Maybe its better for you to go down to one of our sponsors who carry this skimmer to "feel" it.

Better this way.

By the way, I think BFG is trying to suggest that reefer seldom use MCE600 for tank larger than 3ft though. Most reefer use it up to 3ft tank only.

But if you tank had no sump and no way to house an external skimmer, this Hang on skimmer is one of the largest rated one (to my limited knowledge).

The skimmer is good but the collection cup is the limiting factor unless u DIY one waste collector. If u use it and feed with some potent food, the cup needs emptying easily 5 times or more before it stablise.

Skimmer : BK SM200 with waste collector

Return Pumps : Red Dragon 6m3 and Ehiem 1262

FR : 2 X Deltec 509 & powered by AB2000

Nitrate Filter : Deltec NF 509 and tee off from AB2000

Calcium R'tor : Deltec PF 501 with RM secondary chamber

Kalkwasser R'tor : Deltec KM500

Chiller : Pansonic 1 HP Compressor with 20m titanium Coil

Wave Makers : 4 X Tunze 6055 with 7096 & Vortec MP40w

Controller : GHL Profilux

Lighting : ATI Powermodule 10 or 8 tubes

Water Top-up : Water Top-Up tank powered by Tunze Osmolator

External Monitor : American Pinpoint pH and Temp. Monitor for main tank and GHL Profilux Controller to measure temp, pH, Redox

Ozonizer : Sander C50

UV : Corallife 6x

Algae Scrubbler
