All the sellers in Taobao don't ship out of China and they only accept credit cards that issue from banks in china, COD or local bank transfer etc. Alternative is to get from http://www.65daigou.com/ is reported in news lately.

This is their reply:

如果是从国内发货到新加坡,每公斤价格大约20元。

如果50CM的灯具,加包装重量大约6KG;100CM的灯具,加包装重量大约12KG;150CM的灯具,加包装重量大约17KG;200CM的灯具,加包装重量大约24KG。

So, let say for a 100cm lighting, the delivery will cost about S$50 extra of the selling price.

Warranty should be the same as stated in the website: 1/2 yr for the lighting and 1 yr for the LED bulb. Maybe Singapore DIY expert can help to repair, we just pay him some $$ lol.

65daigou.com got 8% service charge (which i think is ok as locally also have 7% GST), can opt for sea freight, is cheaper and consolidate the purchase as incremental weight is cheaper too.

I'm intending to order one 60cm 120w SPS lighting from them, and also probably ask to custom make a blue LED lighting for my future 6ft tank. Those who interested their product can visit me next time. :friends:

Still have some hesitation to start a 6ft SPS... just worry that cannot cope with its maintenance, eg. water change and parameters control, feeding cost, etc...

Can I have a easy life to enjoy this big guy? SPS expert covet your advice. :friends:

Me no expert in SPS but i feel it is exactly easier to keep SPS in big tank as the water volume is higher, the water parameter is more stable and allow more room for mistake.

parameters control

Dosaging pump will solve the chemical issue like kh, can and mg. (sunny intro a cheap dosing pump maybe u can take a look).

Cost

1)The only thing is need strong wave, if go for votech or tunze will burn a hole in your pocket, or u can use a lot of cheap sun sun wave maker, then cost will greatly reduce.

2)high electric bill, but since u r using Led should be quite ok.

Just some of my view. Cheer. :friends:

I shall go 306B Punggol Place to look for the brightest unit!

wow certainly a tempting LED option here, though the length of the set doesn't mean the coverage. for those who wish to keep light demanding corals towards the sides would probably need a larger rated set which would jut out from the tank's length.

looking forward to your reviews! :D

Yes, is optional, but I thought dimmer will shorten the life-spend of LED???

Well, I don't need it so I nv ask to install.

I have recently gone down this path so can share some experience. Have a 2m and love it! Here are some things to take note

1. Make sure lighting frame which is long can be raised and locked in position easily for coral placing.

2. Have a top-up tank that is as large as possible (abt 10% of overall vol) so that you can use it for top up during water change. I also had the DI connected directly to top-up tank and recommend it. Design plumbing so that water drainage can happen without fussy hose but simply thru switching valves.

3. If you are using balling method, have plenty of room for 3 big 10 liter Jerry cans. The many corals will gobble minerals.

4. Invest in good wave makers which is important for sps but esp. for long tanks.

5. I use a compressor to save cabinet space. dun think a must though.

You can expect maintenance cost for big tanks to be higher but so is the enjoyment! Hope this helps.
