SRC Member onizukaa Posted January 25, 2011 SRC Member Share Posted January 25, 2011 can we know which polyps are you referring to? If you are referring to zoas, did you buy the zoas when it's opening nicely at the shop and when you bring back it's not open for 2-3 days? zoas are quite hardy and your specs is enough to make it open... also check whether there is any "white dots" on the polyps itself / any insect alike on the polyps.. Photo will be best

hfabs
I hv 2 blue tangs, 1 scopas tang, 5 anthias, 3 dartfishes, 5 spotted cardinals, 2 cleaner shrimps, 2 boxer shrimps and that's about it and I think they are reef safe and I have not seen any of them nibbling at the corals/polyps. I did about 10% water change 3 days back but I don't think that was the cause. If using tap water will cause PO4, better to use DI water. If PO4 is high, do weekly water change and can also try goodbye PO4 from Henry. Another important thing to check is ur NO3. Do you know any medicine that I can pour into the tank to kill those that are still in the tank.? Attached are my sleeping polyps. I don't think it's advisable to add medication into your main tank to treat corals or fishes. Unless really really no choice due to some special circumstances. Best is to put in that extra effort to isolate them for treatment.
