What's this slimy Thing in my tank

Hi All

I found this darkish red slimy thing that looks like a cocoon in my tank. It has a head with two things sticking out but I can't locate where the eyes are. it doesn't move much however and barely moves half an inch from the same position. it has like many tiny legs and is basically motionless and I don't see it feeding on anything.

I have managed to net it out of the tank and placed it temporarily in the refugium.

Anyone here knows what this is (pics attached) and if its existence is beneficial to the tank in general or otherwise?
