How to Stack LR Together

Recommended Posts

Just wondering -- when you stack LR together do you use silica or something else to make sure they stay in position? Or the trick is to balance them such a way that they all stay together using their own weight?

Sorry a newbie here..setting up a 2+ft curved custom tank..so still collecting as much information as possible before buying the LR, which I intend to do this weekend..

I'm sure this has been asked before -- any tips on how to differentiate the good LR from the bad ones?

Use silica!? I think you meant silicon. No lah..I think most people here don't stick their liverocks..imagine the trouble when you want to rearrange your rocks. Just put them where they are stable. Keep as much surface area of your sand bed exposed to waterflow as possible. Can be accomplished by using pvc pipes with eggcrates...or by using a few pieces of rock as support beams..

Good liverock has a nice fresh sea smell and with lots of life on it...bad live rock is virtually barren and might smell foul.

Always something more important than fish.

Oh is it? I tot my life rock smells like the beach..

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

Juz stack, make sure it won't collapse easily n it'll be fine.

Agree with ryz on choosing LR. Can even smell the diff..
