Is it normal for my boxing shrimp??

Hi,

I have juz bought a boxing shrimp today and I have notice some funny behaviour abt it. Some of my fishes actually went in front of my shrimp and let it catch hold of it and then my shrimp stretch out its small claw all over my fish like doing cleaning for them. Is it all boxing shrimp r like tat??Does it eat all those unwanted food left by my fishes??K anyone help me??Thanks!!

Me think like tat too. But it really did cleaning for my fishes.. But wat does boxing shrimp actually do??

Boxing shrimps are cleaner shrimps too. They will provide cleaning services to fishes too.

All (most at least) of the shrimp u find in LFS are cleaner shrimps. Peppermint, Blood fire, Scarlet Skunk, Boxing shrimp (aka coral banded shrimp), ###### shrimp etc. and most will set up cleaning posts where fishes will visit to rid themselves of dead skin or parasites. Cleaner Shrimps work best in groups.

Got to be careful with Boxer shrimp. They are normally aggressive toward own kind unless in mating pair or large space for indivadual.
