Recommendation for MH needed

Hey guys,

What is the brand/wattage I need for a 2x1x1.5 feet tank?

My budget is around 100 to 150 dollars

I'm considering upgrading from my current 2 x 24 watts t5ho, will a 75 watt MH have PAR advantage over this?

some softies, lps and a browned out sps.. I don't really have a need to get brighter lights, just thought the corals might do better with a change, especially the sps lol

Then if you want MH, I would say 150w as it more common used and should be enough for some sps, or another option of 6 - 8 bulb of t5

For your tank size a 4 x t5 tube will be more then enough. 6-8 t5 is over kill liao. Try to get a better brand lighting set like ATI and u should be able to keep SPS provided your water parameter is good.

Hmm that is a good thing about t5, u can change the combination of bulb according to your likely not fix combination. For colour 3 blue and 1 white is ok but grow slower. For faster grow, 3 white and 1 blue. For me I prefer colour then grow so I have 2 blue, 1 white and 1 purple plus. =)

Yup it will make your coral look better and in the long run, the coral will develop better colour also.

Maybe u can try and ask around whether got people selling their 2ft light set or u can get from Pet mart. Hee they can help to get ATI lightset at a very good price. =)
