Looks like u placing the fans over the lights to me??

Anyways for me the best way to place a cooling fan is at 45 degrees to the water surface... Cools water best..

Visualize the flow of air from the fan.. Allow gaps on the acrylic cover for the hot air blown by the fan to exit the covers...

This will very effectively take heat from the lights out from the system... Clip on or screw on sidecof glass saves space too.. For me I dun mind the looks.. If u need can get a hood hide the fan

Thanks for the comments so far.

To clarify - I will be using 4 x 120mm blower fans (ripped out from a old server). So the direction of the air flow will be going away from the overflow.

Probably going to use a micro controller to control the speed of the fans - these fellas are quite noisy when fully turned on.

I'm con-currently working on the LED light fixture - this will rest on top of the acrylic splash guard when completed..

Dun place fan blowing downwards!

Place your fan blowing across the water will be good.

The most effective way to cool your water :)

Some1 doesn't 1 2 do anything find an excuse,some1 1 2 do something find a mean!

yup, i know ... I'll be using blower fans, the air intake and output is 90 degrees perpendicular, not uni-directional as per normal fans. Just that i can't find blower fan components in Sketchup, that's why I'm using normal 120mm fan component in the drawing :ThanxSmiley:

You can face ur fans downwards, provided you place ur wave maker at that area surface.

Creating waves that will make a more cooling effect.

That is what i am doing now..

Reefing is sharing. People with rotten mouth is sure a loser for life as expected. When a tomato gets rotten, you can nvr save it.. Throw it away before it infect the good ones.

In another way of saying is surface water circulating is a contributing factor.
