Help on BM skimmer

hi, i have been using a BM na3.5 skimmer for a week with no problem. Till yesterday i change some water and add in my self mix saltwater back to the same water level. When i turn on the skimmer, it overflow. i cleaned the cup but it shold not cause it to overflow. Can someone teach me what to do? i already open the mouth of the pipe to the max.

What is your water level? Recommended is between 8 to 10 inches.

I changed to a new filter sock (forgetting to rinse it 1st ), & my BM overflowed too. Had to lower the water level for about an hour before it slowly stabilized. It's sensitive yeah?

i raise my skimmer 1 inch higher, but still not working.

now i just on it and let it overflow. i see how long it can last

My thoughts are:

If whatever that the skimmer is churning out is flowing back into the water column, it's going to circulate back into your skimmer. Then theoretically whatever is causing it to overflow will continue to do so.

I'll raise the skimmer higher until I can extract some decent skimmate. After which, things should normalize.

Did you accidentally close the oveflow tube? Did you know that you can adjust the water level by turning the tube so that you can have a desire level?

What you need to ensure that you need to raise up the skimmer so that only half of the body is submerge......check if there is anything stuck in the overflow tube that cause the overflow

OK, good news for me. the skimmer is back to normal. just back from work and saw the bubble is lower to below normal.....

oh, i never know i need to only submerge the skimmer to half of the boddy only. Thanks alot. will try to raise it.

already turn the tube to the max when it happen, also check for strange thing that can stuck in the tube but nothing.

Is this normal in all skimmer or only the brand BM?
