SRC Member cdckjn Posted January 10, 2011 SRC Member Share Posted January 10, 2011 It looks like one of the thunder crabs that you will find in our beaches. I think I will take out the whole rock. Soak the rock in plain water for 15 min - see if the crab will come out and then remove the rock quickly. Get rid of the crab.
SamuelTan
Is it that bad? It's kind of beyond my reach to catch it.. Lol
dragonfly_sg
Is it that bad? It's kind of beyond my reach to catch it.. Lol It can get big (shell about 3.5" to 4" adult), strong enough to mess with your rock work if they're not secure and opportunistic feeder which might take (sleeping) fish and algae. (and maybe even coral?) While it's still small you can use a 1.5l pop bottle to make a trap and bait it with market prawn or fish meat. Hard to believe that it might catch fishes during the night, its so shy when I try to hold it, doesn't even try to nip my hands with its claws! Going to feed it everyday with meaty food hope it will grow bigger!

SRC Member AloysiusMun Posted January 21, 2011 SRC Member Share Posted January 21, 2011 I wont eat that if I were you. Look at the amount of chemicals we throw in our tanks and how its chemicals are stated clearly not for human consumption, ONLY for ornamental fish!
