I have decided to plan together with my renovation contractor to build kerb where I will place my fish tank cabinet on top. This is to make sure that if there is a overflow, the water will not flood my place.

Interesting design of the bottom... Actually i feel with the kerb, it will still be flooded and the worst thing is you can clear the water underneath... for flat surface, you can at least blow/vacuum or use paper towel to dry it...

From my experience running my last tank, the flood usually occur when sump tank overflow due to return pump not working for whatever reasons. I have not have any experience that main tank overflow on normal running condition.

Any brother have any experience main tank overflow under normal running condition? Kindly share...

Sump overflow? How did you set the water level? It is a well known fact that when the pump stop, water will either be sucked down via the return pump as well as from the remnant water in the overflow box. Looking from the pics, only 1 side of the cabinet is supported while the other is not. This might cause the cabinet to warp and will stress the tank silicone to the point it will leak.

After delivering my tank, the kind deliverman which is also a very experience tank maker told me that my cabinet might not be able to hold the weight of my tank and in the long run will put stress on the tank causing cracks... :(

He advised me to do the following modification to the cabinet...

Any idea what wood are they using to make the cabinet ? Perhaps you should also ask your uncle to help you build a few horizontal beam across the tank to help distribute the weight of the tank with water instead of only on the 4 corner. The vertical wood look a little bit thin.. Hmm..
