Hey reefers out there, need some advice on my cycling. I have just set up my tank this afternoon. The tank started to clear in the evening. By night fall, it start to turn milky, is it the live rock is dying..? Seems to me is the milky thing is discharging from the live rock. Please advice. Thanks

"Be formless... shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle; it becomes the bottle. You put it into a teapot; it becomes the teapot. Water can flow, or it can crash. Be water, my friend..." - Lei Siu Lung (Bruce Lee)

This is part and parcel of cycling. Good for you to run a skimmer if possible, have some flow in the tank and do weekly water change for a few mths. Don't add any LS and dont need any lights while cycling. Good for you to search for crabs if you're using live rocks at night so you can make plans to take them out of the tank while u cycle yr tank.
