dnsfpl's tank part ii

It is excellent that the fish is eating pellets!

I would be more troubled if the fish is only eating mysis and does not take pellets.

There are lots of high quality pellets in the market! Fauna Marin, NLS, Dainichi, Dr Bassler etc etc.

Try feeding your fish various types of pellets to boost its health and soon the ich will go away.

You want dainichi can come find me. I got half a bag of it can let you have it. Hope that helps

Happy Reefing,

Marc J.

Ya man, bro dnsfpl's tank have the most amazing growth I have ever seen. Please share your secret brother dnsfpl.

How often do you feed your corals n fishes?

What type of food?

What salt u using?

How do you maintain your kH, Ca and Mg?

What powder you using if dosing mix?

What are the T5 tubes you using?

How long is the photoperiod?

How far away are the lights from the water surface?

What water temp you control at?

Sorry if I ask too many questions.

Cheers,

James

How often do you feed your corals n fishes?

I don't feed my corals. As for fish, 8-10 times a day.

What type of food?

Pellets: Ocean Nutrition Formula One & Two, Henry'sreefgourmet LIVE & COLOR formula

Mysis shrimp and seaweed soak in garlic every other day.

I modify my food timer, it will only drop app 10-15 pellets each time.

What salt u using?

Oceanic. 5% water change weekly.

How do you maintain your kH, Ca and Mg?
Bubble-Magus BM-T01 Dosing Pump
What powder you using if dosing mix?
NaHCO3, CaCl2, MgCl2
350g of NaHCO3 to 5l of water, dose 37.5ml, 8 times daily
500g of CaCl2 to 5l of water, dose 18.75ml, 8 times daily
500g of MgCl2 to 5l of water, dose 18.75ml, 8 times daily
My dosing pump dose hourly, in total, 24 times, 600ml, a day
and double as water topup too
IMO a must to invest in a dosing pump and kitchen weighing scale
It will save you a lot of troubles

Nice tank and very good size bandit you got there!

By the way, if you feed so many times and only 10-15 pellets each time,

Most of the food may just go to the smartest fish....., right?

Cheers!

(-_-) Happy will do ... (o_o)

What are the T5 tubes you using?
BACK
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Aquablue
ATI Purple Plus
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Blue Plus
FRONT

I change them every 9 months

Just to share how I manage my tubes cycle initially
6th months: Change 50% of the tubes to new tubes
9th months: Change 9 month old tubes to 6 months old tubes
12th months: Change those tubes to new tubes
Then change the tubes when they are 9 months old

Doing so will prevent lighting shock to corals

How long is the photoperiod?
8am-12pm, 5pm to 9pm, total 8 hours

I split the photoperiod because

1) I want to see my fish before I go to work

2) I want to see my fish after I come back from work

3) To dodge the afternoon hot weather

How far away are the lights from the water surface?
2"(4")

What water temp you control at?
27°C(26°C)

Due to the arrival of my bandit, I have raise my lightset to 4" and water temp to 26°C
