Want to keep Purple Tang

Hi all Bros,

Been wanting to keep Purple Tang for sometime liao but heard alot of problems keeping one in this forum. Can share with me what are the common problems and precaution to take to keep one?

My tank is a 3x1.5x1.5ft with Canister filters, 2" sandbed and 15kg of LR. LS i have : 1 Swallowtail angel, 2 clowns and 2 damsels.

Can my tank cope?

IMo too small for a purple tank.

I have kept three 10cm long purple tangs in a school with no probs... but then... my old tank was 5.5ft long. They need a lot of swimming space.

A 3 ft tank is rather small... unless you get a really tiny juvenile and be prepared to give it up once it gets bigger.

Tangs may get more aggressive if there is limited space.

PTs are known to be aggressive tangs by nature.

yavous . other than size , purple tangs dont gv much prob except the inital ich prob .

yesh ich problems.. hmmm how long will the ich last huh? mine abt 4 days old.. dunnoe got eat not.. everytime feed hide inside..

Well i bgt my when PR first opened. Almost immediately next day kena ich. But just maintain gd water n feeding with food soaked with garlic guard n if i remember correctly less than 1 week recover n its still doing very well in my tank now.
