SRC Member fleek Posted December 7, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted December 7, 2010 Hi bros, How big should a quarantine tank be? I have this ultra micro tank about 10 litres with skimmer. I can also put a chiller and a mechanical filter that is lying around. Is myazin from waterlife recommended for quarantine? I have this problem of after introducing a new fish, the old fish die and there goes on. And I only have 3 fish in my 30 gallon tank. Well now left one after an unfortunate event that my chiller went crazy and temp was fluctuating like crazy. I guess that killed my blue tang and maroon clown fish. It is not not I did not try, bought a second hand chiller and died on me after 30 mins. Managed to repair it myself then but too late. IMO, high temp doesnt really kill blue tang and maroon clown. I used to have FOWLR with numerous numbers of diff tangs and crowns, under no chiller conditions. They survived from start till decomm for more than 2 years. Hence, perhaps, the cause of death could be water parameters?

SRC Member fleek Posted December 28, 2010 Author SRC Member Share Posted December 28, 2010 My Ammonia is zero all the way, water is totally clear. I use RO/DI water for top up. But temp is fluctuating very much from 30 ~ 25 degrees within an hour, up and down.
