Izzit possible to put in snail and crabs in sps tank!!!

i spotted come crabs on my life rocks ,and snail that eats alge ,can i leave it or should i catch them out and dump them off !!!

Will it affect my sps , cause spoted my frags got a whole donnno eaten by what ! any advise thanks cause i doint want them to die off

as long its crabs .. i would have them out. though i cant bear to kill them, i just dump them in the fuge/sump..

Go google Acro crabs. If your crab looks like a white crab with a black mark across its probably safe.

If its hairy you better be careful, highly likely its not reef safe.

use glass bottle or cutout plastic bottle(invert the top half) and use small dice of prawn...to entice crab in..i did that and next morning two buggers in the bottles...can search for other method or videos onine.

glass jar works as its smooth. but placed them slanted up abit against the sand.For the bottle if the crab is nt too big it should be able to crawl in sideways. the bottle with inverted bottleneck is at centre so its not able to crawl out. i got two caught this way. but bait must replaced daily if not eaten.

Hairy crabs will eat your sps...

Acro crab or bandit crab with the facemask, is ok...

acro crabs come in many colours and sizes and patterns.

pink, red, brown, purple, white.

as long as it's hairy, remove it.

so many problems with your SPS?

the crabs are not to blame.

no polyps on your millie means no polyp extension. this is bad coz millie almost always 100% of the time have polyps extended.

maybe check your water parameters and your light.

all right NO3 0.5 PO4 ,0 , light 250w plus 39T5

calcium is high 480,KH 10.9,mag 1400

Izzit lighting is too strong ?

Kh abit high. personally i would achieve 7-9 (personal preference).

but i think they do well with kH at 11 also... not very sure. i'm quite nooby at SPS.

It would be best to identify the crab in question....here is a link to help. http://www.chucksaddiction.com/hitchcrabs.html As far as your lps not doing well I would also question the stability of your system. How long has the tank been setup, what is your daily ph and temp swing?? are you dosing daily for ca/alk and how do you dose(all at once or little at a time).

using dosing pump 11am 1ML calcium

12 pm 1ML of KH two times daily

1pm 1ML of magizum two times per day

PH at 8.3

coralline alge is growing

LPS very stable and growing only sps , not really stable yet due to high calcium , tested my PO4 is 0 but still got alge growing maby should put anti phostpate in my FR!!! or carbon !!!

anyway im still new to sps need more advise , got bluetip stackhorns ,Figi Round-tip Pink Birdnest , sunset mile , Lime Green Mille not doing very well going botak , Sunset Mille all till ok only my (radio active ) got from a reefer that was decom and was bleach now turning brown .

PO4 can be the problem.

I measure my PO4 and it say 0.01 ppm.

But recently a reefer help me measure using Hanna PO4 tester and it read 4.629 ppm.

So I believe have to be careful with PO4.
