Hi Desi. Thanks for popping by my thread. Glad that you're back! In this hobby, it's good to talk with people who love different things. I'm sure, I'll see a few sticks in your tank pretty soon. Try montis. I can pass you a small frag to try.

Haa...dont mention Bel, but must admit that was quite a challenge when i baby sit your babies, thank God most turn out ok when you restarted your tank. Btw, I think your kaki base blue polyp monti is really florishing over here, please come over and i will pass you a good size frag.

Cedric, You are the sps dr... Always afraid to step into your house. Everything is so tempting. I'm running on 4 tubes right now so need to get the other 2 tubes working first before I try that frag again. Tks!

Seldom see such nice squamosa clams! Hwee Bin is back but he still travels at time. Yup, he has an eye for gems; my mentor where reefing is concerned.

Yes Bel, i couldnt agree with you anymore. Hwee Bin is one of the very few real pro in the local reefing scene here, he has shared with me the importance of flow, which has a very significant influence on my journey with sps. It will be a good news if he is coming back for good ! He is one of the best

Treat others the way you wanna be treated...

"Be formless... shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle; it becomes the bottle. You put it into a teapot; it becomes the teapot. Water can flow, or it can crash. Be water, my friend..." - Lei Siu Lung (Bruce Lee)

Time to update...

Left & right side of the tank

These are 2 of my favorite milli & prostrata colonies

Don't really fancy encrusting montis except for the nice ones such as rainbow, superman and those tonga ones.

Mini-carpets. I was lucky that most of mine (except 1) attached themselves in visible locations. Joe, that red has recovered ;)

Now to feature my fishes. I'm not very good at taking moving shots of fishes so pardon my shots.

Got these when they were babies from Fuel. JK, they are not Picasso clowns lei; definately true perc.

Australian Black Ocellaris, also got them when they were babies.

The rest of my fishes - Blackcap Gramma Basslet, Macropharyngodon bipartitus (2 pcs), Iridis / Radiant Wrasse (2 pcs)

These fishes are all very stable and on pellets. I've completed my fish list so would not be adding anymore unless a healthy Macropharyngodon Chaoti wrasse comes along . Except for the Blackcap, most of these fishes are the non aggressive species and 100% reef safe fishes. I'm not taking any chance of getting angels and butterflies as I'm too fond of my meaty LPS such as Scolymias and Trachyphyllia radiata.

A good water source, along with your weekly husbandary goes a long way in maintaining your reef tank.

Last shot of the day, FTS for the new year, Jan 2011 :P

  • Senior Reefer

nice tank!

ahh! another reefer after the elusive choati leopard.

i've kept 4 times but all to no success. super difficult fish. praziquantel is a MUST if you want to keep it alive. always comes in with internal parasites and it needs to be de-wormed.

I tried once. Got it from SL at a super healthy condition but I had a green wrasse in my tank then so probably that was the cause of the death. Heard from Thomas Lim that no reefers here had success in keeping this fish alive. Well, I would want to try again if SL brings in another time. Lemon, let me know if SL brings in again. :thanks:
