Tank cycling for Second Hand Tank

I bought a 4 footer from a reefer here and wondering is the cycling for already mature tank with live rock is faster than a totally new tank? Anyone got an answer. Wat the safest period? Alreaddy 3 weeks and my Amm is at 0.5ppm. Nitrite 0ppm. Thanks

not exactly.

matured tank doesnt help at all. infact maybe even slower if it had funny stuffs growing and dying on the glass.

as for liverock yes and no.

if they are transport with water and treated correctly to keep it alive. maybe yes

however, most of the time they are treated badly and died off.

so cycling take some time.
