Clownfish, anemone and leather

oooh, my light is a 36w 10k pl w/ eballast frm nature.

say guys, wat do u tink if a new 2feet tank is setup wif clownfish and anemones?

1. can there be other fishes besides the clown?

2. i tink can oni put common clowns rite, others sure slog it out...?

3. need protein skimmer?

The difficult bit is keeping the anemone. u need gd quality water and strong lights! no joke. Clownfish on the other hand are pretty hardy, and they are many species in the family. unfortunately u won't be able to keep many of them (2-3 of them). unless u hv a gd filtration system and gd skimmer

as the other has pointed out in earlier thread, u dun need anemone for clowhfish to grow well

The colours change depending on what light it's exposed to. The brighter the light the browner it gets.

hi spade are u saying that it cannot be done (ie. 2feet tank wif clowns n anemones)? strong lights for anemones, PL can oredi rite?

Anemone body parts can easily get sucked into filter intakes. Creetin, it is highly unwise to keep them in a 2ft. Futhermore, they grow rapidly if they do well.

I would like to keep just one clown in my mini reef tank. I would like to know your choice? In term of hardiness, beauty, etc?

in general,

all clowns are easy to keep.

if your tank is already cycled, it will most indefinitely do well.

if you want.....you could try a gold banded maroon clown

its looks nice

Hi,

not sure why pple comment that anemone is difficult to keep. I find that they are very hardy inverts. GIven enough food & light, they grow very fast. or too fast. I have given all my anemones to my friends cos they grow too big. All from small baby 2" to at least 10" diameter.

Only worry in keeping them in a small 2ft, they can easily grow too big within a yr. End up giving it away.

hmmmm...i tink the anemone shld be easy - since its the only thing in a 2 footer, with some clownfish....

a Red Tomato Clown tend to be aggresive toward weakings

acherly the question is asking for mi fren... anyway i will try to convince him to go for the common clown......which is less fierce den the tomato/maroon (aka madog)
